On July 23, 2024, the Church Music Department at UKRIM had the privilege of hosting a visit from Duo Saraswati, a classical piano-cello duet composed of Jan van der Plas (Classical Cellist) and Kris van der Plas (Classical Pianist). During their visit, they conducted a masterclass for the students, focusing on vocal techniques, violin performance, and conducting. This masterclass was incredibly beneficial for the students, providing them with valuable insights and skills that directly support their studies.

In addition to the masterclass, Duo Saraswati also held a concert later that evening. The event attracted a significant audience, with more than 70 people in attendance. The concert featured a special collaboration between Duo Saraswati and several Church Music Department students who had participated in the masterclass. These students also had the honor of performing as opening acts for the concert, showcasing their talents in solo performances. Among them were Karel (piano solo), Azarya (vocals), Cindy (vocals), and Kezia (vocals).
Duo Saraswati then took the stage, delivering a captivating performance that included classical repertoire from both Western and Indonesian composers. Their performance reflected their mission to bridge the musical traditions of Indonesia and Europe, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
